Like The Sun

The Sec 1 monkeys had a selection trial this afternoon. Congrats to these shooters who make the first cut for the Shooting Inter-Schools in April: YQ, Irwan, Martina, Adele, Cat, Ricky, Sheryl and Fion. For those who has yet to shine, I would like to delicate this poem that I wrote on 6 Jan 2008 to you (image was shot at Upper Pierce Reservoir).

Like The Sun

I may be tired but there is no need for a time-out
I may be exhausted but I am far from a burn-out
I may be obstructed but I refuse to be blocked out
For like the sun on a cloudy day I shall break out

I may be on the ground but it is just a slip-up
I may be beaten but this is only a warm-up
I may be disheartened but I will not give up
For like the sun on a new day I shall rise up

Burning Baby Fat

This afternoon, the Sec 1 monkeys were at the track for a very short run. They were huffing and puffing all the way. Sigh!. Not sure how much baby fat are they able to burn from a run, some exercises and a game of frisbee.

From Behind

This afternoon at SAFRA Yishun, while the monkeys were shooting the targets, I was shooting them from behind. And it irritated the hell out of Nic as she could hear my shutter clicks. Sorry.

This SAFRA Monthly Shoot is the first competition for the pistol girls and the second one for the rifle girls. As expected, there were plenty of butterflies in their stomach, especially Claire's.

Pocket-Size Shuet

I was looking through my photo collection when I came across these. The question that run through my mind is, can 2 Shuets squeezeee into coach's suit at the same time? Ignore the two monkeys behind when you ponder over this question.

By the way, Happy Birthday, Shuet! May you grow longer and wider.

Hot Wheels And Boomerang Sticks

They don't just train, they have fun too - sometimes on their stomach.

Royalty Came To Town

We had the honour of His Royal Highness Al-Muhtadee Billah, the crown prince of Brunei, paying a visit to our shooting range. And coach had the pleasure of showing him how to shoot. We were delighted when the prince graciously autographed one of our rifles.

The Boys Don't Get It

Last Christmas was no different from previous year. The girls were invited to fix up their own gingerbread house - courtesy of my wife. Yes, only the girls were invited. Tried one year having the boys and they messed up the place.

Year Of The Dragon

I would like to start the first post by greeting everyone, A Happy Lunar New Year! By the way, these images were shot at Chinatown.
