Hues Of Rainbow

This afternoon, I passed my camera with a 100mm macro lens to Fion. We then headed to the small garden at the corner of the school where I shared with her some tips on shooting flowers. And these are her creation, Enjoy!

Days And Times

It is 3 months into the year and the shooters are slowing gelling into a team. They have demonstrated on many occasions that they can be counted upon to support one another. I would like to delicate this poem that I wrote in 7 Aug 2008 to both shooters and coaches – a gentle reminder that not everything will be smooth going but ultimately we must stand as one.

Days And Times

There are days when nothing seems right
There are days when everything goes wrong
These are times we must rise to the fight
These are times we must stay steadfast and strong

There are days when no one is on the same side
There are days when everyone stands apart
These are times we must defend our pride
These are times we must beat as one heart

Mango And D24 Durian

Happy Birthday to Adele and Nigel! Once again thanks to my better half, we got to enjoy mango and durian cakes.

The last photo showed Martina failing in her attempt to aquire a taste for the king of fruits. Her loss is our gain.

NTU Invitational Shoot

During the school holidays, the entire Shooting Academy took part in the NTU Invitational Shoot and this was the first competition for many of the Sec One shooters.

This competition, being the prelude to the nationals, saw more than 700 shooters competing keenly in four of the 10m air weapon events. I am glad to say that our monkeys managed to stand their ground against the older and more experienced opponents.

Here are the highlights of the school division.

In the Air Pistol Women event, Clarissa finished in a credible 8th placing with a score of 354 points and Fion came in 10th.

In the Air Rifle Men event, Yong Qing surprised us by coming in 4th with a very good score of 569 points.

Once again, our air rifle girls came through with a fine performance. Shuet Hwei did one better than her last competition. This time round, she won the gold medal with a score of 391 points. Both of her teammates also did very well. Audrey came in 4th and Adele 6th. Their combined score of 1160 points won them the air rifle women’s team title.

Nigel wrapped up the academy’s good performance with a silver medal in the Air Pistol Men Open event. Well done coach.

What Is The Quality Of Light

That was the question I have been asking the girls throughout this afternoon's photo walk. But I think they need a few more sessions before they are comfortable with ISO setting. Anyway, I had a good time posing and shooting them. As for them, I think they are more interested in eating.

SSP Junior Shootout

The SSP Junior Shootout is the highlight of the Learn-To-Shoot Basic Course. The best was selected to represent their school in this competition. I am proud to say that they performed up to expectation and did their school proud. Congrats to all winners. Hopefully, some of these shooters get selected into the academy. Also a big thank you to coaches and monkeys for making this competition a success.

Winter Olympics Training

It has been a long, tiring and freezing week for all of us. The HomeTeamNs range is so cold. It was as if the monkeys were training for the winter olympics. Luckily, there were home baked cakes and buns to look forward to. Once again, courtesy of my better half. Hey guys, if you want more delicious treats, please keep saying, 'Thank U and I Love U' to Aunty Koh.
