Shooting Biathlon

This afternoon, we celebrated the April babies’ birthdays. Happy Birthday to Chea Rong and Ricky. Once again, my wife baked two yummy cakes for the occasion.

After the celebration, we had a shooting ‘biathlon’; the pistol team versus the rifle team and at stake are bubble teas. The pistol team had to shoot 30 shots using the pistol with their non-master hand. Then they had to shoot another 30 shots with the rifle. For the rifle team, it was the reverse.

And the winner is … (drum roll)… THE RIFLE TEAM!

Two Left Feet

The juniors are learning dancing during their S3 sessions. My conclusion: shooters can't run and shooters can't dance.

Listen To The Sea

The monkeys had a surprise this afternoon. Chea Rong sang them a beautiful Chinese song, A-Mei's 'Listen To The Sea'. A promise she made to them for fulfilling their training and competition's requirement.

Team Effort

Here are the results (those who came in top ten) of the National Inter-School Shooting Championships.

In the Rifle B Girls Division, Shuet Hwei came in 4th.

Our Rifle C Boys Team came in 8th.

In the Rifle C Girls Division, Martina won the silver medal; Adele came in 6th and Catherine 10th. Their combined score won them the silver medal in the team event.

In the Pistol B Girls Division, Clarissa came in 9th.

Our Pistol C Boys Team came in 6th.

In the Pistol C Girls Division, Fion won a bronze medal and Sheryl came in 5th. Together with their teammate, Shannon, they managed to win the team title.

In shooting, the shooter himself faces the target and the shooter himself squeezes the trigger. However, the shooter cannot by himself achieve excellence, he needs a team. A good team to plan training and provide coaching, to offer encouragement and provide moral support, and especially to show care and concern when things are not going his way.

Hence, on behalf of the shooters, I would like to thank the parents, the school management, the boarding staff, the teachers, the mentors, the sports scientists and the coaches. Thank you.
