Butterflies In The Stomach

This SSP Junior Shootout was the highlight of the Learn-To-Shoot Programme. Understandably, there were a number of young shooters with butterflies in their stomach as this was probably their first major competition. However, the good scores spoke volumes of the quality coaching that they had received during their training.

A total of 704 primary school students had undergone the Learn-to-Shoot Programme since its inception in 2011. We would like to thank all partner schools, parents, coaches and shooters for making this 5th edition of the SSP Junior Shootout a great success.

Once again, we would like to congratulate all prize winners.

SEASA Round Up

201 shooters took part in the 10m air weapons events at the 38th South East Asia Shooting Championship held in SAFRA Yishun from 8 to 11 Dec. The shooters were from HKG, JPN, MAC, MAS, MGL, MYA, PHI, SIN, THA, TPE and VIE.

Our SSP shooters rose to the occasion with many of them winning medals for Singapore.

Irwan paved the way with a team silver in the Air Rifle Men event. Ting Wei then followed up with a personal best score to win gold at the Men Junior event. He also contributed to the team gold for Singapore.

Our girls dominated the Air Rifle Women Junior event. Adele and Xiu Yi finished first and second; and together with Shuet Hwei’s 4th placing, they clinched the team title as well.

Lenice and Yong Qing picked up silver and bronze in their respective event at the Singapore Invitation Shooting Championship, which was held in conjunction with SEASA.

On the third day, Fion and Shannon wrapped up the championship with a team bronze in the Air Pistol Women Junior event. As for the pistol boys, better luck next time.

The Shooting Academy ended the year on a high. The SSP shooters remarkable performances throughout the year are confirmations of their commitment and hard work. Credit must also go to their coaches, Chea Rong, Song, Nigel and Annie. It is through their passion and drive that so many of our young shooters are doing so well. So monkeys, remember to thank your coaches when you next meet them.
