Very Much Alive
I was like a
newborn when I first arrived
Apprehensive,
curious and very much alive
Met the
children, felt their deepest desire
Plenty to
change, time to fan the fire
So much to do
but don’t know where to start
Do I rule with
an iron fist or follow my heart
Mummy to the
boys and daddy to the girls
Three months
on, it’s still a huge struggle
Should I tame
those who are wild and free
How do I wipe
tears and get foes to agree
Do I let the
very slow hold back the very fast
How do I get
the first to be patient with the last
Eight months
now and things are turning around
For I noticed,
there are more ups and less downs
More tales to
tell and more plots to hatch
Come next
year, a new start, a new batch
They too will
be like newborns when they arrive
Apprehensive,
curious and very much alive
