Medals And Pee

The monkeys have being doing very well after two days of shooting. All the pistol boys shot their personal best and Nigel won the silver medal. Well done coach!

The rifle girls did even better. Cat and Shuet made it into the finals. Martina missed the finals by one point. I did not dare to watch them shoot the finals… I have a weak heart. Congrats to Shuet for winning the bronze medal and the team for coming in second in the team event.

After the competition, Shuet was ‘lucky’ enough to be picked for anti-doping test. And after 5 hours, 8 bottles of drinks and 3 toilet visits, she still could not produce a good sample. Her pee had to pass the specific gravity test before it can be sent to the lab for further testing. Luckily, they aborted further testing and we all got to go home. Shuet will definitely remember this very eventful day.

By the way, sorry boys! I was so excited about the girls getting into the finals that I forgot your guns. Sorry….

Singapore Open

Tomorrow, is the start of the competition. This morning, the monkeys had their equipment checked and they also managed to put in some training. I think they are prepared. Best of luck, guys! Crossing fingers and toes!

Spring Cleaning

While most of the shooters are away, either on holidays or competition, I took the time to do a little spring cleaning in the range. YQ and TW were ‘volunteered’ to help. They started out on their knees, scrubbing the floor. Soon they were having fun sliding on the wet floor. Not long later, it was washing the floor with their feet. And when my back was turned, they were throwing the wet cloth at each other. Sigh! Boys will be boys. And I have to buy them lunch.

Land Of Smiles

With the monkeys away in KL, I flew to Bangkok for a deserving break. Bangkok is hot, humid and dusty. However, it has great shopping, good food and plenty of photo opportunities. My kind of holidays.

Shooting Shooters

It is easy to shoot shooters. They are mostly standing still. Anyway, all the best to those who are going up to KL for SEASA Championships.
