National Youth Team 2013/2014

We are delighted to announce that 16 of our 31 SSP shooters have been selected into the National Youth Team. In this team of shooters, were the entire Sec 2 batch (our first official batch). This is clearly an endorsement of the Shooting Academy’s programme. Another two Sec 1 shooters were given pre-NYT status because they were from the Pri 6 JSA Shooting Programme.

We are also a step closer to fulfil our mission, that is, “The Shooting Academy produces quality shooters with good character to feed into the national team”.

Credit must go to Chea Rong, Nigel and the 2 part-time coaches, Annie and Vanessa. The shooters are indeed fortunate to have them as coaches.

Congratulation to all these 18 shooters.

NJC Invitational

Over the weekends, The Sec 1 shooters took part in the 10th edition of the NJC Invitational Shoot over at HomeTeamNS. Just like their seniors, they too put up a good performance.

Both the air pistol boys and girls teams won their respective team title. While their counterparts, air rifle boys and girls teams, came in second.

In the air pistol women individual event, Natalie shot a personal best of 345 to win the bronze medal. Terrence and Gabriel followed up with a gold and bronze medal in the men event. Zack and Tim came in second and third placing in the air rifle men event.

Ping Pong Challenge

It was challenging and it was hilarious. The monkeys had a great time playing with ping pong. Some of the games were Ping Tac Toe, Blow Harder and Bouncer. Range Tennis was the most difficult game for them.

For A Change

For a change, we moved their workout to the open field besides the school. ... And the sun just came up from the east.

APC - Monkeys

This morning was fun. The Annual Parents Challenge saw the staff, the kids and their parents going all out to determine the best shot. Well, after adding 40 handicap points to the staff and parents’ scores, the staff came in first, followed by the kids and then the parents. However, the best part of the event was that $860 was collected for charity. Thanks you everyone for your contribution.

APC - Staff And Parents

I am sure the staff and parents appreciated the kids providing them with shooting tips.
