Hard Fought Victory
At the NUS Invitational Shoot, our shooters had to compete with competitors who are much older than them. However, some of them still managed to shine at this competition which featured 380 shooters in the school category. Our rifle girls team continued to dominate the shooting scene. Martina won the gold medal in a field of 88 competitors, while Shuet Hwei clinched the bronze medal. Together with their teammate, Adele, they beat 24 other teams to win the rifle girls team title. At the pistol event, Sheryl had a very good outing. She shot a personal best score of 369 to win the bronze medal. There were a total of 97 competitors in her event. For the rest of the academy, I am sure they will take the time to reflect on their performances – learn from their mistakes and celebrate the little things that they did well. I hope the shooters remember to thank their coaches. Among many things, the coaches are their teacher, their supporter and their friend. As for me, I am their nanny. Haha.
