Congrats to these shooters who are elected as Student Counsellors, Academy Captains and House Captains! I am sure they will rise to the challenge and do a good job.
I have a troop of monkeys (coaches included) to nanny and these are their stories.

Hard Fought Victory
At the NUS Invitational Shoot, our shooters had to compete with competitors who are much older than them. However, some of them still managed to shine at this competition which featured 380 shooters in the school category. Our rifle girls team continued to dominate the shooting scene. Martina won the gold medal in a field of 88 competitors, while Shuet Hwei clinched the bronze medal. Together with their teammate, Adele, they beat 24 other teams to win the rifle girls team title. At the pistol event, Sheryl had a very good outing. She shot a personal best score of 369 to win the bronze medal. There were a total of 97 competitors in her event. For the rest of the academy, I am sure they will take the time to reflect on their performances – learn from their mistakes and celebrate the little things that they did well. I hope the shooters remember to thank their coaches. Among many things, the coaches are their teacher, their supporter and their friend. As for me, I am their nanny. Haha.

Tension In The Air
The monkeys are now having a selection trial for the Singapore Youth Olympic Festival competition. Although it is just a trial for a small competition, nevertheless there is tension in the air. It is so exciting!

Swimming Monkeys
I am glad they were having a good time in the pool. They were supposed to be swimming - burning away their fats accumulated during CNY. Never mind, they can run it off at the next gym session.

Perfect 400
The academy has an excellent start for the
year.
Over the weekends, the SSP shooters took part in the annual 3-day HomeTeamNS Invitational Shoot. In the school division, there were over 270 competitors and the SSP shooters managed to stand their ground against much older and more experienced competitors.
The SSP shooters swept both the Men and Women Air Rifle team titles. Yong Qing, Irwan and Ting Wei were in the men’s team; while Martina, Shuet and Audrey were in the women’s team.
I am also delighted that the pistol shooters, Sheryl, Shannon and Nicole, won a silver medal in the women pistol team event.
In the individual competitions, Ricky came in 3rd in the Men Pistol event; while Yong Qing and Irwan came in 1st and 3rd in the Men Rifle event. In the Women Rifle event, Shuet and Adele came in 2nd and 3rd.
However, the highlight of this competition was on Martina. Not only did Martina win the Women Rifle event, she also shot a perfect score of 400 to set a new national record. Congratulation, Martina.

Photowalk - Chinatown
It has been quite awhile since I went out with the Sec 4 girls on a photowalk. We spent the afternoon shooting in Chinatown and then made our way to a Korean BBQ restaurant at Telok Ayer for dinner. I know the rest of the monkeys after seeing this post will demand that I bring them out too.
Butterflies In The Stomach
The Sec One pistol shooters had their first taste of competition this morning. As expected, they were very nervous at this Junior Monthly Shoot. I could almost feel the butterflies in their stomach. Haha. Anyway, most of them shot ok in their first attempt.
